Nutrition coaching for behavior change:

Nutrition coaching incorporates a thorough nutrition assessment that encompasses an individual’s personal goals, motivations and strengths, as well as their medical and psychosocial histories to create an individualized treatment program aimed at achieving lasting behavior change.

Improving nutrition is more than understanding food sources of critical nutrients. Developing a nutrition blueprint that reflects personal biochemical and physical characteristics gets at the essence of nutrigenomics, the study of how food and diet interact with specific genes to increase or decrease the risk of certain diseases.

Disordered Eating or Eating Disorders: Nutrition coaching for adolescents and adults struggling to overcome patterns of overeating, restrictive eating, night eating, compensatory behaviors such as overexercise, laxative or diuretic abuse or purging.

Weight Management: Nutrition coaching for optimizing nutrition while implementing effective behavioral skills needed to establish and maintain short and long term weight goals. Nutrition coaching for obesity, pre- and post bariatric surgery including coaching for individuals with complicated medical or psychiatric histories. Related approaches are used for treating type 2 diabetes, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and metabolic syndrome.  Developing effective weight management programs for maintaining weight loss is perhaps more important than the roadmap to weight loss itself.

Pediatric Obesity: User-friendly approaches to addressing the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity combine skills-building exercises in the kitchen and the playground, incorporating principles of improved self-awareness to help build effective behavioral strategies.

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT): MNT for a variety of conditions including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, certain types of cancers, and gastrointestinal disorders including food allergies and celiac disease.
